wispfox: (my hat is fuzzy!)
[personal profile] wispfox
I can, indeed, switch my brain into a state where I can be intensely social for long periods of time. But it requires me to not need to keep track of time, makes me _very_ flighty (counteracted by being cuddled), not great at self care, and makes non-highly-social activities not things I want to be doing (so I made it to no panels at all, and played very few games). It also requires that I have people I am utterly comfortable with clinging to/cuddling with reasonably easily available. It also makes me _way_ less good at being aware that I am not seeing as much of people as I might like, if I'm seeing them at all and I _am_ getting time with comfortably cuddly people. It also means that I start getting less able to handle touch from those I'm not as comfortable with. And starts meaning my impulse control goes away (although that may have been insufficient sleep).

I have done this before (when I met [livejournal.com profile] the_xtina and [livejournal.com profile] cos, and went to the housewarming where I knew no one), but it's been a long time, and I didn't really understand then how to make it last without huge cost. Now I have more data. :)

So! Arisia mathmatics:

++Saw way more of [livejournal.com profile] metahacker and [livejournal.com profile] galaneia than expected; I suspect some combination of [livejournal.com profile] metahacker's lack of a charged cell phone meaning it would be harder to find him, them tending to be awake when I was (aka 'early'), source of much cuddly goodness, and [livejournal.com profile] metahacker being about as unable to stay in one place as I was.
- Saw less of [livejournal.com profile] australian_joe than expected, although not all that much less (I did not expect to see much of him except for our specifically scheduled evening together).
-+ Holy shit, I went to a lot of parties. Having some combination of [livejournal.com profile] metahacker, [livejournal.com profile] deyo, [livejournal.com profile] australian_joe, [livejournal.com profile] devoken, J-who-has-no-LJ, [livejournal.com profile] majes, and [livejournal.com profile] mactavish at various of them is very probably why I _stayed_ at them (and party-hopping is kinda fun). Tried briefly to go to a party with [livejournal.com profile] devoken involving crowded dancing, but loud and crowded, so I did not stay.
+ Brief [livejournal.com profile] ayalanya sightings! Sorta met [livejournal.com profile] kires a couple times.
- Saw little of [livejournal.com profile] jasra, but I completely expected this. Busy Arisia girl! I do need to get her iPod speakers back from brother-of-[livejournal.com profile] galaneia, though.
-+ [livejournal.com profile] mactavish and [livejournal.com profile] deyo were there! But I saw less of them than I might have liked. Not shocked, though. Con, and all!
-+ Did not see as much of [livejournal.com profile] intenselaura, [livejournal.com profile] devoken, and [livejournal.com profile] starandrea as I would have prefered, but I am nontheless glad they were there. And glad that [livejournal.com profile] starandrea and [livejournal.com profile] devoken managed to meet, if briefly.
++ [livejournal.com profile] starandrea is planning to keep myself, [livejournal.com profile] intenselaura, and [livejournal.com profile] devoken in her pockets so that she can pull us out for hugging later. Charmed! Also, I have a copy of her book! With additional words!
++ Women storage (aka, J-with-no-LJ, [livejournal.com profile] intenselaura, [livejournal.com profile] devoken, myself and a couple of other women in a little cubbyhole under the stairs to the third floor across from the elevator. There are pictures. :) Was very cuddly under there, if a bit warm.
++ Happier J-with-no-LJ than I've seen in nearly two years. Glad I invited her.
++ Staying (and being mostly functional) the entire con. In midwinter!
+++++++++++ having most of the people I adore in the same location and meeting each other. (wish that [livejournal.com profile] regyt, [livejournal.com profile] the_xtina (who people kept saying J-with-no-LJ looked a bit like), [livejournal.com profile] randysmith, [livejournal.com profile] psongster, and [livejournal.com profile] alecto23 had been there)
? Being sufficiently LJ-famous that the fan guest of honor wanted to meet me. The hell?
+ being sufficeintly comfortable that I was willing to take brief nap breaks by just putting my head on the table on top of my arms. Usually I feel the need to stay aware of what's going on around me if in public places, no matter how tired I am.
-+ Stayed off the computer for days. Not enough sleep, though, so less healed than I could have been.
-+ Massage! Hurt though. And I was _way_ over tired and cold and whiny. And then I noticed and laughed at mysolf a lot.
+? Met lots of people, none of whom I will recognize later, nor remember their names. As, well, per normal. Was startled to be reminded of just how many people I _do_ recognize sufficiently to feel the need to hug them when I saw them. Sheesh!

I wonder if I remembered to mention that [livejournal.com profile] rosefox is more face blind than I, and that [livejournal.com profile] starandrea is completely so, to those people I introduced them to...

Kitty _MISSED_ us. Clingy kitty.

Very tired both physically and mentally (was awake every four hours last night). Probably oversocialized, although significantly less so than I had expected (or I have just not noticed yet as I'm alone right now). Was good I had an [livejournal.com profile] australian_joe to go home with, so it wasn't _quite_ so abrupt a change from con to not-con as far as delightfully cuddly people being within reasonably easy reach, and so that my not having seen a lot of him could be counteracted with sleepy cuddling last night and this morning.

Good con. Yes.
